Kings Schools, Taunton are independent co-educational boarding and day schools in Somerset. Both Woodard Schools, the teaching ethos is rooted in 'Faith, Unity and Vision', and Kings Hall School and Kings College together educate 780 students aged 2-18 years.
In 2010 the associated junior and senior schools joined under the umbrella brand Kings Schools Taunton and the marketing team began looking for new websites to better communicate the unique ethos and strong sense of community at the heart of the schools.
Avenue Digital's strategy for was to deliver two websites – one for Kings Hall and one for Kings College – with a close tie between them, utilizing the same templates but each with a slightly different creative style. The websites needed to cater for different audience groups and school entry points and we held focus groups to gain a clearer understanding of the requirements each audience had for the website. We implemented a simple CMS to provide administrators the ability to update the website content in house and developed an events calendar, photo gallery, interactive timeline, fixtures diary, staff directory and a student blog; interactive content to engage both the existing and potential students and their parents.
The websites clearly present a tie between Kings Hall School and Kings College and successfully position the schools as leading in the independent education field, contributing to the continued influx of student applications.
