2017: A Year in Review

2017 has been another sensational year for Avenue as the agency starts to move through the gears and welcomes new hires to our fast expanding digital agency.

One of the most senior hires of the year was Toby Graham,who joined Avenue as SEO Director and head of department, with past experience gained from Next, House of Fraser, New Look, Direct Line, Legal and General, Santander and Thomas Cook. With Toby firmly in the driving seat, the SEO department is going from strength to strength, winning new clients across Insurance, retail, financial services, travel and education.

Among other new clients like Hamilton Fraser Insurance, Imperial College London, and the NHS bringing their paid and organic search to Avenue, potentially our most notable account win of the year was being awarded the International PPC account for leading restaurant and Hotel chain Nobu. 

Other gains include revenue growth of nearly 50% at the end of the financial year with pre-tax profits approaching 30%, way ahead of the industry average. Stuart Wells, CEO of Avenue Digital said, "Our revenue growth is performing well and at the the perfect level for organic and self funded growth.  Our operational pre tax profit levels are impressive at 30%, way above the industry average and testament to us running a well controlled and well managed operation with the right people in the right positions. 2018 looks set to be another exciting year as we reach further afield with new offices planned to open in the US and Europe to support new client acquisition.

In paid search, we have strengthened our relationship with Google, facilitating regular meeting and events to ensure our clients are getting the best possible tactical advice and highest levels of customer services. Our partnership with the Google platform DoubleClick further confirms our heavyweight status in the paid landscape.

Technology has continued to play an important part of our unique offering in paid and organic search, with our own reporting tool Fathom taking centre stage in client analytics and data reports.

2018 looks set to be another exciting year for Avenue as both artificial intelligence and voice search takes a more mainstream position.
