The Future of SEO

The focus of every Avenue Digital SEO manager is to help the client focus their webpage content. This is because there is ever more reliance on exceptional, relative, and concise content to help websites rank higher.

In the future, the hidden and bitty practices every SEO manager has come to love will be replaced by a much more fluid, PR like practice.

The reason for this is because search engines have become wiser. And with every algorithm update Google releases, Googlebot becomes a little bit more human and responsive to engaging content.

In the past during Googlebot’s infancy, SEO practices encouraged the use of keyword implementation and linkbuilding, because these micro-indicators of popularity and relevancy helped the fledging Googlebot to associate each website with the relevant search terms.

However, the maturation of Googlebot is encouraging the SEO agency of today to be innovative, relevant and specific in content creation. In fact, SEO and PR are merging as a result. As Jessica Laporte reports for Digital Marketing Magazine, the “continuously evolving nature of the internet is forcing these two disciplines to acclimatise to a new era by converging.”

In SEO’s future, I picture a landscape where websites have become the print advertising of today; where websites are discussed and dismissed, revelled in and promoted because of the relevancy to the human experience, rather than used passively with the current era’s linkbuilding mindset .

For this to happen, content and copy will be king. Working with a digital marketing agency who values the entire marketing experience, rather than the quick-win formula of old, will be key to adapting and growing in the changing landscape.
